Nature always finds a way to make space for itself, to adapt — even in the most urbanised places. Wild plants grow through cracks in asphalt, along pavements, on railway tracks, and even on rooftops. These so-called “weeds” are very important: for example, they improve air quality and provide shelter for pollinating insects. Wild plants remind us that nature — including human nature — has an extraordinary capacity for resilience: not everything can be controlled or planned.
